This is by no means is a one person show, but it was started by one person who does not have a college degree or much business experience at all. I had a vision of what this editing business could look like and I was determined to figure it out. I picked up terms like white label and discovered the difference between DIY and $$$. Weighing out function and beauty. That’s led me here. Still no college education, but my qualifications include 1,000,000 internet tabs, trial and error and an affinity for learning things the hard way. I hope that the fruits of my “figuring it out” are useful to you.
Here are my essential tools:
Airtable for Spreadsheets. We live and die by our Airtable. It’s the most visually appealing spreadsheet possible. $10 credit.
Canva for design. Everyone needs Canva. It’s an easy way to make quick designs that are on-brand.
Flodesk for marketing emails. I just switched (literally our last email). It is price-y but if what’s holding you back from doing marketing emails is ease-of-use, you have no excuses now. 50% off your subscription!
Planoly for instagram planning. The secrets out. We plan our instagram. If I didn’t plan it, it wouldn’t happen. Save $10 off your plan.
Slack for internal communication. We couldn’t live without this ray of sunshinsine in our digital world. Clients preferences mixed with adorable dog faces– all organized accordingly. We love slack.
Wetransfer for file transferring. It is relatively fast, cheap and has white label options that make it seem within our brand. You can get $10 off a paid subscription and it’s worth it if you want a branded way to send files.
Wise for paying our international editors. It is secure and they receive their funds in their currency. You can sign up too!
